We are so excited and thankful that you have decided to serve on the One on One Care Team at Westbridge. By serving in this way you are helping to bring hope to those who are hurting through empathy from past experiences and spiritual encouragement. One on one care team members are not counselors or therapists. They are committed to effectively listen to and pray with others. Their role is to reassure others of God's work in their lives, not to solve problems or fix things.
To ensure you are informed and equipped to serve well, we provide the following training for each One-on-One Care team member:
- Initial Training: We will provide you with an online training course and workbook designed to prepare and equip you with tools for one on one care. Once you've completed the training, we will meet with you to go over the basic outline and model for providing one on one care as well as answer any questions that you may have.
- Ongoing Check Ins: We will check in with you at the beginning and end of your one on one care process to provide support, encouragement and prayer. We will also be available to help during the process, if needed.
