Child Dedication

We believe children are a gift from God!  (Psalm 138:13-14)

We believe God has a purpose for each of his children.  (Ephesians 2:10)

We believe parents have a responsibility to teach their children about God.  (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Child dedication isn’t a statement that a child makes – but a statement that parents make.
When Moses instructed the Israelites, he placed spiritual leadership on the parents:

“Hear, O Israel:  The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”  (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
As parents, we hold a significant role as the first picture of God’s love that our kids will experience!  Raising spiritually mature children requires an even greater level of intentionality in a busy world!

Child Dedication is a statement that parents make before God and their church family to make every effort to partner with their church family to set an anchor of God’s love deep in their kids' hearts!

It’s a statement that you won’t be passive in your child’s spiritual growth but will model for them what the love and grace of Jesus look like on a daily basis!
